Who are the Dendrite Duo?

This is our logo.  Look for this on TPT or Etsy for all our products.

Hi,  we are glad you are here.  We are two friends that used to be colleagues.  We both retired early but really wanted to share the knowledge and experience we have with those that are still in classroom.
That is how the Dendrite Duo started.

Together we have over 40 years of teaching experience from K - High School to Community Collage;  with a lot of special education sprinkled throughout our careers.  Our mission is to create hands-on engaging resources to make day to day teaching easier.  We work together to create materials that focus on being easy to use, thorough, and unique.  Products that can reach all of your students.  We create Print-and-Go or Print-and-Create products.  When laminated, Print-and-Create items are ones that you can use over and over again with many students.  While we do have the classroom in mind for most of our products, they are also very easy to use within a preschool, or a homeschool, setting.

We all know how difficult the classroom can be, so take some YOU time.  With our resources you will be able to take more time for life outside of the classroom, why try to reinvent the wheel when we are here to do that for you.

Thanks for visiting our blog. Our goals isn't just that you buy our products.  We want to share our experiences and thoughts on teaching in a real and honest way, the good, the bad, and the ugly.    It's a work in progress but hopefully you find something that peeks your interest and you decide to come along on this journey with us.

Hi I'm Kate.   Even thought I have taught grades k-6, I have taught mostly in Kindergarten.  As my degrees have been in early learning.  But I have experience with special needs as I've been a Support Teacher and a special needs classroom teacher.  For a couple of years I taught at a Community Collage, facilitating Learning Assistance programs.

This is me with Winnie, we love living in BC Canada. It really is a beautiful province.  If you love the outdoors, its the place to be.  Winnie and I love to go for walks either on the dikes or in the forests.  There are lots of waterfall walks as well.  I also love to kayak, but Winnie can't join me on that activity as you can see she's sorta large.  I'm an avid reader,  I think I've read almost 100 books last year.   But my favourite thing to do is visit my family especially my grandkids.  I have two and they are a joy.  I also have 3 grown children that have their own families.  So I needed something to keep me busy since retiring.   Lisa and I started our TPT store and we both love creating hands on engaging content to help teachers in their day to day lives as teachers.

Hi I am Lisa.  I now live in Ottawa, Ontario but I lived most of my life in British Columbia after moving from the UK when I was a toddler.   I have 1 son who is grown and living his life in Alberta but I am also a step-parent to 2 school-aged children here.  I love exploring this country, I drove from BC to Ontario by myself and I have driven all the way across to Bell Island, Newfoundland since I've moved to this side of the country.  There is so much to see here!
Putting my feet in the Atlantic Ocean on Bell Island.

I have a lot of different experiences in the classroom. The majority of my career was in BC.  I have been a Special Education Teacher in both elementary and high school. I have taught grades 4-7 in the classroom fulltime.  My high school experience was mainly special education with a little bit of English and Leadership.  The end of my career came a little quicker than I had anticipated since leaving BC, where I had an amazing career, and moving to Ottawa.   There were a number of things that led me to leave the profession but ultimately I had to choose my mental health over teaching.  That is why I love what Kate and I are doing.  I can take all the things I have learned over my 20+ year teaching career and put that into the products we create.  I loved teaching, I miss it everyday, but this is the way I get to continue being in that world, but behind a screen now. :)
I'm not a fan of pictures but here I am with my partner :)
